Above: "Wicked," a big new Broadway musical, rehabilitates the plot of the classic, Wizard of Oz. In this newer version, the Wicked Witch of the West is a sympathetic heroine and Dorothy is replaced by Glinda, a witch apprentice who uses spells to enchant her victims. The playwright and musical composer, predictably, are Jewish, as are the actresses who play the witches and the wizard. (Photo: Time, Nov. 17, 2003) |
Right: In 2004, Angels in America, possibly the most evil TV series of all time, was aired on HBO. The director and actors were given "Golden Globe" awards. The movie depicted angels having sex with homosexuals and lesbians and praised Communist spies like Ethel Rosenberg. Newsweek magazine ran this revealing picture of actress Meryl Streep, who starred in the movie, giving the sign of the devil just over the head of Angels in America director, Mike Nichols. Left: American actress Sarah Jessica Parker (HBO's Sex and the City), was in attendance recently at a Christian Dior fashion show. After seeing one model swathed in a gold snakeskin sheath walking like an Egyptian and wearing a giant jackal mask representing Anubis, god of the dead, Parker was enthralled. "I want to live in these dresses, sleep in them, bathe in them," she raved. Also popular at the fashion show were outfits with names like "The Thorny Wood" and "Voodoo Witch."
