Charles Dickens, in A Tale of Two Cities, wrote, “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.” That phrase is appropriate today as Texe Marrs retires and Power of Prophecy transitions into new leadership. We are saddened by his departure, but we are excited about the opportunity that Texe has afforded us.
I say leadership, mainly, because we will continue the mission that Texe and Wanda began over thirty years ago when they founded this ministry. That is the only change at Power of Prophecy Ministries. The path is clearly defined by our Saviour, and the burden will be ours to bear as Texe and Wanda move over to Bible Home Church.
Paul said it best in his Epistle to the community at Philippi, Greece, when he stated, “Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you. Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing” (Philippians 3:15-16).
A term of endearment was passed on to the employees of the ministry many years ago by Wanda. One bright, sunny day, Wanda came into the office, and was summarily greeted with a clean desk—all of her awaiting work was finished for her. She rounded the corner and exclaimed that we were the “Dream Team” for helping her out. The moniker has stuck since that day.
We Are Here to Serve You
Michelle Powell will continue in her role as the Administrator of daily operations here at the ministry. Her knowledge of business and the Bible is a marked advantage for the ministry.
Sandra Myers, will continue to lay out our newsletters, as well as creating the exciting covers for Texe’s upcoming books. Occasionally, Sandra will also contribute an article for the newsletter. Her knowledge of health care as well as the Bible, will be a blessing.
Our newest member, Steve Reilly, will handle our shipping department. He will appear on our radio show from time to time. His knowledge on conspiracies will be a valuable asset.
As for me, Jerry Barrett, I will continue to maintain our web-pages, posting our feature articles along with News of the Day. I will also be the host of our weekly radio program, Power of Prophecy and write the feature articles of our newsletter.
We earnestly wish for your support and your prayers as we move forward. It is an honor for us to serve you and we want so much to please our Lord and Saviour.
