Charlatans on
the Prowl: The
Word of Faith or the Prosperity Gospel movement has taught many that if you have enough faith,
you can speak whatever you want into existence. Recently, Jesse Duplantis asked his followers
to believe with him for a new airplane, a $54 million dollar airplane! Duplantis blasphemously
stated, “If Jesus were alive today, he wouldn’t be traveling on a donkey.”
Trinity Broadcasting Network rakes in almost onehundred million dollars a year, and is
the domain of the Crouch family. A former producer of Praise the Lord claimed he was
fired after complaining that Paul Crouch asked God to kill a man for petitioning the Federal
Communications Commission to take over the network’s flagship station in Orange County.
Benny Hinn practices “grave sucking” and wants treasures here on earth and not in
heaven. The Apostle Paul warned Timothy of these men with corrupt minds who suppose that godliness
is a means of gaining wealth. Paul told the Ephesians to avoid anyone who brought the message of
covetousness.
