And Losing Credibility Daily
“Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.”

“And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast...”

Texe Marrs, our late Pastor Emeritus, was blessed with the powerful gift of discernment. His keen insight was constantly ten to twenty years ahead of the pack. His ability to point out issues before they became problems gave his naysayers a target for which to attack.
Case-in-point: In an article penned in 1997 entitled “Coming: A Federal Bureau of Religious Persecution,” Texe pointed to this glaring reality:
“The people who control our government have already given the new agency a name. It is to be officially called the Office of Religious Persecution Monitoring (ORPM)... It is clear that once this evil agency is established and begins to exercise its dreadful powers, the spirituality of the whole earth will be reinvented. All religions and churches will be part of an elite-controlled, tolerant, Bible-hating, unity-in-diversity system. What an amazing fulfillment of Bible prophecy! Could the director of this new police agency become the ‘False Prophet’ prophesied in Revelation 13...”

Is There Religious Persecution In America?
Lifeway Research surveyed 1,005 Americans and fifty-four percent believe religious freedom is eroding. When asked about the treatment of Christians and their beliefs, the majority of Americans (59 percent) now say that religious tolerance for Christians is declining in the U.S. too.
How shocking is this information when we were taught America was founded as a Christian nation? That does not mean America was founded as a theocracy, like Israel, where no other religion would be tolerated. Biblical principles were incorporated into the Constitution and subsequent laws.
There are many who will claim that Christians are not persecuted in America and point to the number of Christians targeted and murdered in other nations. Afghanistan, North Korea, Somalia, Libya, and Yemen saw the highest rates of persecution globally. Open Doors said that at least 360 million Christians worldwide experienced “high levels of persecution and discrimination.” The group also estimated that the number of Christians killed for their faith rose to 5,898 in 2022, up from 4,761 in 2021.
These blood-bought, Christ-loving Christians chose their faith over their earthly body. They did not follow the example of Peter:
“And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren. And he said unto him, Lord, I am ready to go with thee, both into prison, and to death. And he said, I tell thee, Peter, the cock shall not crow this day, before that thou shalt thrice deny that thou knowest me” (Luke 22:31-34).

Although Christians in America do not have to face the guillotine—yet—there is a definite pattern of decline. The infestation of liberal doctrines into the church is where the slippery slope began. There was no pomp and circumstance to draw the attention of its members. Sadly, those who saw the decline chose not to speak up and protest.
One can surmise that if the Christian church and its pastors in America had maintained their strong faith, the legalization by the Supreme Court of abortion (Roe v. Wade); the removal of prayer in the classroom; and the welcoming of homosexuals and transgenders into the pulpit would have found no traction. Neither would the acceptance of the New International Version bible have been possible. In the Old and New Testament are teachings that should have been heeded by the NIV and other bastardized version translators: Deuteronomy 4:2 and Revelation 22:18-19.
What Persecutions Do We Face?
How many of you would have ever dreamed of pastors shutting the doors of their churches? That is precisely what happened during the pLandemic. Those who bravely stood their ground were arrested and/or fined. By acquiescing to these illegal mandates, so-called pastors left their flocks unattended to be preyed upon by the wolves.
Controlled-media constantly lambaste true Christians who refuse to support the homosexual and transgender agendas. How many have lost jobs for refusing to celebrate this debauchery? Moreover, these same broadcasters are first in line to promote stories of teachers turning their classrooms into non-binary, gender fluid hubs. The mantra used? Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion!
The Internal Revenue Service has been used as a tool against Christian organizations. Keep in mind that Resident Biden’s “Inflation Reduction Act” has allocated funds to hire 87,000 new agents! Likewise, those who have naively agreed to the draconian rules and regulations to be 501(c)3 are at the mercy of the IRS.
How many private businesses have been sued because the owners refused services stating that these requests conflicted with their deeply-held religious beliefs? Bakers, photographers, and wedding venue owners have all been afflicted with persecution.
Demonrats Are On Attack
Our Constitution was constructed in such a way as to prevent despotic actions from any of the three branches of government. This is known as “Checks and Balances.” This idea was severely threatened when the Supreme Court decided to legislate from the bench in the case known as Roe v. Wade.
Thankfully, Supreme Court Justices recently rectified this overstepping of boundaries and overturned the ruling legalizing abortion. This outraged many people in politics and media who possess left-leaning ideals. Resident Biden proclaimed that he was going to direct Congress to adopt legislation that would codify abortion—making it the law of the land—instead of leaving this to individual states.
After much hemming and hawing, Biden sorrowfully explained that there were not enough votes to accomplish this goal. This did, however, light a fire under the Demonrat politicians on Capital Hill. If this Court would brazenly overturn abortion it is highly conceivable it would overturn the legalization of same-sex marriage! Something must be done about this immediately!
Respect For Marriage Act
Enter the “Respect for Marriage Act.” It is designed to repeal the last enforceable remnant of the “Defense of Marriage Act” signed by—BILL CLINTON!—in 1996. This piece of legislation will “codify” federal law as it pertains to same-sex marriage.
Even though a substitute version from the Senate claims it will fix religious liberty problems, these “protections” will amount to nothing more than window dressing. Sadly, Thirty-nine Republican members of the House and Twelve Republican Senators voted to pass this heinous bill.
This soon-to-be law will become a direct attack against religious freedom in America. Among the many provisions included in this bill:
- Establishes a false definition of marriage
- Opens the door to polygamous marriage
- Jeopardizes non-profit organization’s tax-exempt status
- Predatory litigation against faith-based social-service organizations

Churches who steadfastly stand upon God’s Holy Word will be sued unless they open their doors to homosexual couples seeking to wed. Likewise, faith-based adoption agencies will most assuredly have to shutter their doors to avoid costly litigation.
To be clear, religious persecution has been occurring in America. But we have been forewarned this would, have we not? The Apostle Paul wrote:
“Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived. But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them” (2 Timothy 3:12-14).
