Quick-fix drugs prescribed by psychiatrists are killing our nation
“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:”
|
“There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.”

America is suffering from a dramatic epidemic of over-medication. Instead of seeking God, more and more people are turning to Big Pharma for answers. This “quick-fix” mentality is destroying our once great country.
Is it no wonder that there are more mass shootings occurring these days? Church attendance is on the decline whilst worship of Satan has increased. Instead of living a biblical life, many have turned their backs and believe they know more than Him.
The term “depression” is characterized as having feelings of sadness, hopelessness, and anxiety. According to an article in the National Library of Medicine, major depressive disorder (MDD) is the most common mood disorder in America. The average rate of those who experience MDD is 2 to 7 percent in America and Europe.
Was Depression Prevalent in Society?
Before the discovery of narcotic anti-depressants, patients were sent to restful places or asylums. Many treatments were inhumane by today’s standards—these included electro-shock therapy, convulsive therapy, isolation, blood lettings and more. Since psychiatry is more of a social science than a pure science, human behaviors can be hard to define.
The first pharmaceutical drug utilized in treating patients who had been diagnosed as depressed was Trofanil. Originally this was created to treat patients with tuberculosis, but doctors noticed mood enhancement for those who used it. This lead to the development of more medications for anti-depressants. As is always the case with man-made drugs, the side-affects were not pleasant.
In the late 1980s Big Pharma introduced Prozac. This led to an onslaught of other narcotics (Zoloft, Paxil, Wellbutrin, Trinitellix, etc.) which are known as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs). These drugs target serotonin levels in the brain.
Today, these drugs are prescribed at alarming rates. They are the third most frequently taken medication in the United States. Many clinicians believe that since we know so little about mental illness, we might as well try these pills. But, are these narcotics being over-prescribed?
Every person goes through periods of depression or anxiety. There is an ebb and flow of things in our lives that affect us, both positively and negatively. Raging hormones in teenagers as they transition into young adulthood is but one example. Instead of talking about these issues with a trusted pastor or parents, our nation has become complacent in the usage of drugs as a quick fix.
In an article written by Caleb Owens entitled, “An Uncomfortable Truth: Does the Rise of Antidepressants and SSRIs Fuel Mass Shootings?” (https://www.psychreg.org/antidepressants-ssri-mass-shootings/ we learn:
“A study published in Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics looked at 5,639 patients in the US who were diagnosed with depression by their clinician and compared their symptoms to the DSM criteria for clinical depression. Of these patients, only 38.4% met the criteria, even though the majority of the 5,639 patients were prescribed depression medication.”

Another question that needs to be asked is how many psychiatrists are sponsored by Big Pharma. The answer may be just as alarming as the misdiagnosis mentioned above:
“Over half of active psychiatrists (55.7%) received some form of payments from pharmaceutical manufacturers. Of these, top 2.8% of psychiatrists received 82.6% of the payments. Pharmaceutical manufacturers provided 812,877 payments worth $110,512,607.18 to 26,422 psychiatrists in the US.” (National Library of Medicine)

Is There a Link Between Anti-depressants and Mass Shooters?
Psychiatrist Peter Breggin, author of Toxic Psychiatry and Talking Back to Prozac has written extensively about violence in association with taking SSRI antidepressants. Mr. Breggin was once quoted saying, “The phenomenon of drug-induced manic reactions caused by antidepressants is so widely recognized that it is discussed several times in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders of the American Psychiatric Association.”
Big Pharma will argue that suicides and/or homicides are triggered by the “disease” and not the “drug.” But as more mass shootings occur, data seems to contradict this claim. So-called experts, who may or may not be on Big Pharma’s payroll, continue to argue that correlation does not equal causation. While depression in and of itself may not lead to an increase in violence, the massive increase in SSRIs being prescribed does correlate with the increased number of mass shootings.
What Is the Definition of a Mass Shooting?
There is no consensus on the definition. Some claim the incident must have four or more people who are shot or killed—not including the shooter—in a short period of time. Others claim it must be an incident where three or more are hit by gunfire. Keep this in mind, however, drug and gang violence is never classified as a mass shooting event.
No matter what definition one chooses, there is irrefutable proof that a number of mass shooting perpetrators have been on psychotropic drugs. We may never know the truth about antidepressant use by either the shooter at Robb Elementary in Uvalde, Texas (I refuse to publicize their names), or at the July 4th Parade in Illinois. However, when one considers those who came before, it is a question that should be answered.
Here is a small list of mass shooters who were known to be on these psychotropic drugs:
|
• James Eagan Holmes, 24, 12 dead, 70 wounded [Antidepressant: Zoloft (generic)]
James Eagan Holmes, the “Batman Movie Killer,” shot up a movie theater in Aurora, Colorado in July 2012. In his personal notebook, which he sent to his psychiatrist the day of his murder spree, Holmes said that along with losing his anxiety, he’d lost the fear of reprisal.

|
• Eric Harris, 17, 14 dead, 23 wounded [Antidepressant: Zoloft, Luvox]
One-half of the “Columbine Killers” murdered 12 students and a teacher in Littleton, Colorado in 1999. Harris had switched antidepressants from Zoloft to Luvox, which has been known to cause mania and attendant violence. The SSRI was found in his bloodstream during an autopsy.
|
|
• Patrick Purdy, 25, 5 dead, 30 wounded [Antidepressant: Amitriptyline]
Purdy killed five children and wounded 30 others at a schoolyard shooting spree in Stockton, CA in January, 1989. He had been taking the antidepressant Amitryptyline as well as the antipsychotic Thorazine.
|
|
• Seung-Hui Cho, 23, 32 dead, 23 wounded [Antidepressant: Prozac, Paxil]
Seung-Hui Cho walked onto the campus of Virginia Tech University on April 16, 2007 and murdered 32 students. He had been diagnosed with major depressive disorder, and had been prescribed Prozac after previously being on Paxil.
|
|
• Jeff Weise, 16, 10 dead, 12 wounded [Antidepressant: Prozac]
Jeff Weise was reportedly prescribed antidepressants after a suicide attempt. One day in 2005, he shot and killed his grandfather, his grandfather’s girlfriend, and then 7 people at a high school in Red Lake, Minnesota before killing himself.

The current hue and cry from the controlled media, as well as the looney left, is that there needs to be more gun control. As long as Big Pharma continues to finance major network news and politicians, there will never be a comprehensive report exposing the toxic effects of these mind-altering drugs. Sadly, there will not be a call to come to Christ Jesus from these places either. Therein lies America’s biggest problem.
