Will either candidate concede after this election?
“I consider it completely unimportant who in the party will vote, or how; but what is extraordinarily important is this—who will count the votes and how.”

Every four years we are faced with a choice—whom shall we cast our vote for President of the United States. For many Christians, their choice is easy for them to make. However, one should ponder if it is the correct one and not make haste in such an important decision.
There are those who will lambaste people who judge others. Their version of Matthew 7:1 will readily spew from their mouths, “Judge not, lest ye be judged.” But do we not judge who should be the leader of our country? Do we weigh their deeds, words, and actions before we cast our ballot?
The Purpose of Government
We are told in Romans 13:1 that we are obligated to be subjects to the government. In verses 3 and 4 we are taught the purpose of government is to uphold the good and punish the evil. Right and wrong shall be determined by the state. But we are not to blindly obey the government if that body should demand we violate God’s Word.
In Paul’s letter to Timothy we are instructed to pray for our leaders who are in a position of authority:
“I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.” (1 Timothy 2:1-2)

The respect we are to show governmental authority can best be realized when our rulers are competent and rightly perform their duties. But such is not always the case. Unfortunately the Bible does not say that everyone in authority is of God. Proverbs 29:2 teaches us:
“When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.”

We who stand on God’s Word know all authority comes from God. No person—be they president, dictator, or monarch—attain their position without His providence. This, however, does not mean He approves of them.
You Ain’t Seen Nothin’ Yet
For those who thought the election season of 2016 was contentious, as the old saying goes, “You ain’t seen nothin’ yet!” President Donald Trump has been his normal, bombastic self, hurling insults via social media onto the Democratic nominee Joe Biden and his running mate Kamala Harris.
Biden and Harris, likewise, have not been without their caustic charges against Trump and his administration. Moreover, neither side of these campaigns has stated they would readily concede defeat on election night. Further complicating the process is the continued state and judicial rulings allowing for mail-in ballots to be counted with no “drop dead date.”
War Game or Planned Scenario
During the summer of 2020, unbeknownst to most of us, a “war game” was held to analyze the potential outcome and subsequent reaction from both sides of the political aisle. A number of scenarios were contemplated during multiple sessions. As I will soon provide, the participants—at least those who are willing to be revealed—make up a Who’s Who of political heavyweights and Washington insiders.
Why this piqued my interest was the previous “war game”—dubbed Event 201 was hosted by Bill Gates and Johns Hopkins University—held in New York concerned a pandemic outbreak throughout the United States. We have all lived through the ensuing lockdowns, unprecedented quarantining of healthy individuals, and the propagandizing of first the number of deaths and second the number of cases. Event 201 surely helped those involved plan and prepare for the near-total enslavement of citizens.
Crisis Management
The use of crisis management has been a common practice in the national security world. Unlikely scenarios are presented to participants who are given the basic designs of a catastrophe. The idea behind these sessions is to acknowledge areas of strength and weakness, and to better prepare the decision makers in the face of disaster. This method is also used to gauge the reactions of the public by use of cinema, television programming, and Main Stream Media presentations.
The premise of this group was a concern over potential disruptions after the 2020 presidential election and the transition of administrations. The group self-titled itself the Transition Integrity Project. Although billed as a bipartisan effort, the group was primarily funded by former members of the Obama administration.

The co-founders are Rosa Brooks, a former Pentagon official and law professor at Georgetown University and Nils Gilman, former Vice Chancellor at the University of California at Berkeley. Over one hundred current and former senior government and campaign leaders, journalists, academics, and former federal and state government officials participated.
Some of the participants who have been confirmed are Michael Steele, former chair of the Republican National Committee; John Podesta, Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign chairman; former Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm; former Kentucky Secretary of State Trey Grayson; Donna Brazile, former Democratic National Committee Acting Chair, as well as journalists William Kristol, Edward Luce, Max Boot, and David Frum.
During its first iteration, the group game-played an ambiguous election result. The outcome of the election was unclear after the results of three states are in contention, and one state has destroyed ballots. Neither side is willing to concede.
The second iteration was a clear Biden victory of both the popular vote and the Electoral College. In this situation Trump would allege fraud and take steps to benefit himself and his family, but ultimately handed the White House over to Biden.
The third scenario started with Trump winning an Electoral College victory, while Biden secured the popular vote. Here, Biden refused to concede, persuaded Democrat governors of two states Trump had won to send separate electors to the Electoral College, encouraged three states—California, Oregon, and Washington—to threaten secession and convinced the House of Representatives to refuse to certify the election.
The fourth and final campaign covered was a narrow Biden win in both the popular vote and the electoral votes. In this scenario Trump refused to concede defeat, creating untold chaos before the Senate Republicans and the Joint Chiefs of Staff confirm and accept Biden’s win. Trump refused to leave the White House and was forcibly removed by the Secret Service.
Will the 2020 Election Be Tainted?
Just as he did during the 2016 election, Trump has alleged the potential for corruption—be it ballot harvesting, mail-in ballots being destroyed by the postal service, to how the ballots are counted. Hillary Clinton was declared the winner of the popular vote, though votes in some areas of the country exceeded the voter rolls.
The transition from one administration to the next has traditionally been smooth. Even the most rancorous differences have been set aside—for the most part—and the hallmark of our democratic republic has continued.
Will this be the case for 2020? With Main Stream Media no longer hiding its bias and fomenting a raging hatred towards the sitting President, it remains to be seen. Those who support Trump, likewise, feel threatened and are prepared to defend themselves. In my lifetime, I would have never thought this amount of discord to be possible.
Remember this, though. God reigns over our affairs and in His providence leaders rise and fall, but we absolutely should not assume that all human affairs meet God’s approval. Take comfort in knowing that God stands in control amidst all this chaos. We are called to actively display His character in the choices we make.
“And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.” (Colossians 3:15-17)”
